Your Aug. 29 editorial cartoon really sends a message. In this day of awareness of road rage, gang violence and drive-by shootings, a cartoon that seems to advocate a violent response to an irritant is particularly tasteless. You preach a gun-control agenda, you endorse anti-gun politicians and then you publish a cartoon like this.
The National Rifle Association and the various state organizations work to educate children and the general population about the dangers of abuse of firearms, and you negate those efforts with one cartoon. You also negate a great deal of your credibility as keeper of a public trust.
You owe all of your readers a sincere apology for this gaffe.
