Charles A. Desch, 75, of Mt. Prospect, died Tuesday at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Born in Chicago, he was a retired Chicago Tribune employee who worked as the mail room manager for columnist Ann Landers. Prior to the Tribune, Mr. Desch worked for the Chicago Sun-Times assisting Landers while she was a columnist there. An Army veteran, he was an anti-aircraft gunner during World War II. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Wilson, Dale Drake and Darla Henry; and seven grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Raymond Catholic Church, 400 S. Elmhurst Rd., Mt. Prospect.
