Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

ARE YOU A BULLS FAN? DO YOU HAVE TONS OF REPRESSED CHILDHOOD ENERGY that you need to release? Are you a Bulls fan? Do you enjoy entertaining large crowds? Are you a Bulls fan? If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you may be exactly what the Sports Magic Team is looking for – IncrediBulls. The Orlando-based company, which employs the IncrediBulls and its counterparts across the country, is holding open auditions this weekend for the super peppy team that entertains fans during game breaks. All they ask is that candidates be physically fit, enthusiastic, outgoing and at least 21. The auditions will be held at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 800-646-1110.

To give you an idea of what one of these guys is like, we caught up with veteran IncrediBull Nick Stein, a former class clown whose day job is with an automation company.

Q. What motivate you to try out for the IncrediBulls?

A. For something like this, you sort of have to be outgoing. I guess I’m just naturally goofy and enthusiastic, that’s all. . . . For those auditioning, I suggest that they be energetic, confident and enthusiastic. Just go out there and have fun, because that’s what it’s all about. And if you have those additional skills like stilt-walking and gymnastics, you’ve got a good chance.

Q. What are Jordan and the crew really like?

A. The superstars are really busy, so we don’t get to interact with them. But guys like (Bill) Wennington, (Steve) Kerr and (Luc) Longley are really friendly and always talk to us. They’re great guys. Michael and Scottie have that superstar aura around them, you know, the security and the privacy, so we don’t get close to them.

Q. So what are the perks?

A. The obvious. I certainly wouldn’t do it for the money; you only work the home games and there are only 41 home games. But the biggest perk is not only to be part of a championship team, but also a part of an organization that’s going to go down in history. And most of all, if you’re a people person, you’ll have a blast. When you’re on the court, people are screaming for you because you’ve got free stuff. I get a real rush from that.
