Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Recently I noticed an annoying trend in the Tribune. I start reading a story, only to get a paragraph into it and see it’s a “rerun.”

As an example, the same article by Susan Kuczka appeared three times in my Fox Valley edition. On Aug. 6, it was “Long lawns too long gone? . . .”(Metro). On Aug. 16, it was “Homeowners can get clipped by unruly lawns” (New Homes). And on Aug. 17, it was the “Law of the lawn” (Real Estate).

With TV, I can choose to watch reruns or not. With other forms of entertainment, I choose to pay for experiencing something again. My newspapers and periodicals, I purchase up front, content unread, and I expect original information. Will I be given the option of extending my subscription or getting a refund since you’ve sold me triplicate information?
