Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

-For the many years I have been a Tribune subscriber and reader, I always looked forward to opening the paper to Page 3 and reading Mike Royko. Upon his passing, there was an empty space in my day–in many people’s days, I am sure.

Now, however, that space is a little less empty. John Kass, another writer whose work I have long admired, begins a new Page 3 tradition. Though the shoes may be hard to fill and the mantle a bit large at first, he is definitely a good choice to take over Mike’s corner. Maybe someday, with his wry humor and quick wit, we will overhear people on the “L” saying, “Did you read Kass this morning?”
