This is a bad-girl moment. We’re talking shoes, seriously baaaad shoes. Shoes that, way back when, would have made the likes of Vanity 6, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Tina Turner and Debbie Harry tremble with gotta-have-them lust. Shoes that hinted of late nights stepping to the tunes of Sade, the Pet Shop Boys and Prince. Shoes that granted you instant access to the inner sanctum of Nell’s, the Palladium and the Limelight. Shoes that beckoned the doorman to look down at your feet to know you were fabulous–and to whisk you right inside while Cher stood ignored outside in the rain. Well, the bad-girl moment is back for fall. We’re talking spectacularly fussy shoes, stilettoed of heel (great with those man-tailored suits) and sporting all kinds of really cool accouterments: leopard prints, red snakeskin, cut-out leathers, velvet and mink. And boots that crawl up to the knee or hover about the ankle, demanding attention. So, if you buy just one shoe this season, be bad.
