Esther Bowman, 66, of Hodgkins died Friday in Mercy Hospital in Chicago. Mrs. Bowman, a registered nurse, had worked for the past six years caring for youngsters at La Rabida Children’s Hospital and Research Center. “She felt that the work was very necessary, and she felt it was a way of serving the Lord by doing that kind of work,” her husband, George, said. Other survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Schulmeister, Deborah Hutter and Grace Tuttle; a brother; and five grandchildren. Services will held at 10 a.m. Monday in Abram & Son Home for Funerals, 6910 Windsor Ave., Berwyn.
