I have grown weary listening to the opinions of male movie critics on the subject of “G.I. Jane.” In the Aug. 22 Friday section, 11 movies were reviewed by a total of five male critics. The lone female, Monica Eng, reviewed the animated version of “Pippi Longstocking,” and her review was buried behind the others on Page Q.
In light of research that suggests that men and women tend to have different tastes in movies, I have to ask: Where are the female critics?
