Richard A. Hodapp, 72, was a World War II veteran and charter member of his local Elks Lodge in the west suburbs. Mr. Hodapp died Saturday in his Wheaton home. He served on the USS San Juan during World War II and worked in the building trades as a structural steel detailer upon his return from the war. Mr. Hodapp was a charter member of the Wheaton-Glen Ellyn Elks Lodge and held leadership positions within the organization. He is survived by his wife, Doris; a son, David Bruce; a daughter, Donna Jean Long; a sister; and a grandchild. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
