John Coyle, 76, an independent painter for about 40 years, died Wednesday in Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Mr. Coyle, a native of Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland, moved to Chicago in 1957. He was a veteran of the Irish Army and captain of the Shamrock Rovers, a popular soccer team in Ireland. Mr. Coyle is survived by five daughters, Margaret, Patricia Johnston, Eleanor Kruis, Anne and Kelly; seven sons, Thomas, John, David, Joseph, Stephen, Kevin and Eamonn; three sisters; three brothers; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Queen of Martyrs Church, 10233 S. Central Park Ave., Evergreen Park.
