John J. Bartkus IV, 29, an independent construction contractor, died Thursday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Barrington, after an accident at a construction site. A resident of Matteson, he started his own business several years ago. Survivors include his parents, John J. III and Susan K.; companion Lisa Brescia; two sons, John J. V and Bryan Brescia; and three sisters. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sauk Trail Baptist Temple, 4411 W. Sauk Trail, Richton Park, followed immediately by a service in the church.
