Ralph W. Brown, 79, of Des Plaines, retired vice president of Laystrom Manufacturing, died Thursday in Holy Family Medical Center, Des Plaines. Mr. Brown, who worked at Laystrom, a Chicago tool-and-die company, for 50 years, started in maintenance and worked his way up to the position of vice president. Mr. Brown was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. He is survived by a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Sandra Kurt; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Zachary Church, 567 W. Algonquin Rd., Des Plaines.
