Thomas H. Suwanski was a former police officer in Chicago and area suburbs. Mr. Suwanski, 55, died Saturday at his home in Algonquin. Mr. Suwanski was a Chicago police officer for 10 years before taking a job with the Lake in the Hills Police Department, where he rose to the rank of sergeant. He also worked as a juvenile officer for the village of South Barrington and was a bus driver in Carpentersville before his death. Mr. Suwanski is survived by his wife, Jenny; his mother, Sophie; three sons, Rob, Tony and Matt; a daughter, Denise Vincente; two brothers; a sister; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Wait-Ross-Allanson Funeral Chapel, 201 S. Main St. in Algonquin. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Margaret Mary Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin.
