Amoco Corp.’s British exploration subsidiary said it and its partners in the North Sea will spend more than $160 million over the next three to four years to increase oil and natural gas reserves off the Scottish coast. Meanwhile, Amoco’s plant in Decatur, Ala., has reached full production of a chemical that can broaden uses for plastic in consumer goods, such as beer bottles or baby-food jars. The plant has reached its design capacity of 27,000 tons annually of the chemical known as NDC, and Amoco said it will expand the plant’s capacity to at least 40,000 tons annually by 1999.
