Rev. Lloyd Wiegele, 64, a Chicago native who taught at Carmel High School in Mundelein, died Monday in Peabody, Mass. Father Wiegele professed his vows as a Carmelite on Aug. 30, 1950, and was ordained a priest on May 26, 1956, in Chicago. Father Wiegele received a bachelor’s degree from Mt. Carmel College in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and a master’s degree from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 1959. He taught geometry at Carmel High School from 1965 to 1966 and previously taught at Mt. Carmel College from 1960 to 1964. He was a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force for 19 years. Survivors include a brother, Raymond. Visitation will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the National Shrine of St. Therese, 8501 Bailey Rd., Darien, to be followed by mass at 7:30 p.m.
