Construction on Windpoint, a mall to be built at Randall Road and McKee Street, is scheduled to begin within four weeks, the City Council has learned.
Kohl’s, Linens ‘n’ Things, and OfficeMax will be the three anchors in the development.
Gary Pachucki, senior director of Opus North Corp., said Kohl’s would build an 86,640-square-foot center, with space allowing for a 20,000-foot expansion.
“It is highly unusual to see a Kohl’s of that size. This bodes well for the community,” he said. A December 1998 completion date is expected.
Mayor Jeffrey Schielke praised the plans.
