Allstate Insurance Co. said that it has opened a representative office in Beijing. Allstate said it hopes to foster strong relationships with Chinese officials and industry representatives. Northbrook-based Allstate’s long-range goals include providing property-casualty and life insurance to consumers in China. Currently, insurance is provided by more than 30 Chinese national insurance companies and six foreign insurance companies, which are in various stages of participation in the China market.
