Mr. Marchese, who served in the Army Medical Corps in World War II, worked as an elevator operator and cabdriver after the war. For 25 years he was owner of the Queen City News Agency at State and Randolph Streets, according to his daughter, Barbara Kreczmer. “A lot of celebrities who came through town knew about his newsstand,” she said. Other survivors include a son, James; a brother; and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lack & Sons Hickory Funeral Home, 9236 S. Roberts Rd., Hickory Hills.
