Russell E. Johnson, 84, of Chicago, a retired employee of Schwinn Bicycle Co., died Sunday in Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center. Mr. Johnson, a lifelong resident of Chicago, worked at Schwinn for 48 years, where he spray-painted high-end bicycles. Survivors include his wife, Rita; three sons, Brother Thomas, James and Martin; two stepdaughters, Marene Martensen and Marla Wickstrom-Brandt; and six grandchildren. Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Celestine Catholic Church, 3020 N. 76th Ct., Elmwood Park.
