Released only in audio versions, Wolfe’s much-ballyhooed novella spoofs the world of prime-time television newsmagazines and their underhanded “sting” attempts. Actor Norton often captures the hardboiled spirit of Wolfe’s prose. He exaggerates, though, the Southern accents of three U.S. rangers whom a newsmagazine is investigating as suspects in the beating death of a gay, fellow ranger.
