Cornelius D. Casey, 74, a retired Chicago police captain who worked in several North Side districts, died Friday in Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Mr. Casey grew up on the Northwest Side and was a police officer for 32 years. He was a fighter pilot in World War II in Europe. While with the police department, Mr. Casey worked in the intelligence unit and was the head of the narcotics unit, according to one of his sons, Lawrence. He retired in 1978 and moved to Mountain Home, Ark., where he raised geese, ducks and chickens. Mr. Casey also is survived by his wife, Julia; another son, Dennis; a daughter, Julie Bennett; two brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago.
