Maynard Flikkema, 46, a longtime Elgin resident, died Thursday. A native of the Netherlands, Mr. Flikkema grew up in Grand Rapids, Mich., and graduated from Calvin College. He worked for 22 years in the international transportation industry, according to his wife, Janice. Other survivors include his daughter, Krista Geiger; a son, Adam; his father, Koert; his mother, Itge; two sisters; and two brothers. Services were held Saturday.
