Raymond Fred Hertel Sr., 75, a native of Chicago and a longtime employee of U.S. Can Corp., died Wednesday in Sherman West Court retirement home in Elgin. Mr. Hertel served in the Navy during World War II. He is survived by three sons, Raymond, Robert and Don; one daughter, Judy Krueger; one sister; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in O’Connor and Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Monica Catholic Church, 90 N. Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville.
