The Country Faire Apartments complex in Grayslake has been selected as a pilot for the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County’s multi-family recycling project. SWALCO’s Citizens Advisory Commission selected the site from three applicants, and the board of directors approved the choice Thursday night.
The other two applications were received from Century Park Condos/the Willows in Vernon Hills and Osprey Lakes Apartments, north of Delaney Road in Gurnee.
The Grayslake complex was chosen because it is the most prepared to implement a recycling project, said Andrew Quigley, SWALCO executive director. Country Faire has 396 units in 10 buildings. Each building is near an enclosure suitable for recycling containers.
