James John Atsaves, 56, of Lake Forest, an entrepreneur, died Sept. 11 in Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. He acquired and helped turn around businesses in the bakery, medical device, insurance and plastics fields. He was the founder of the Cancer Comfort Foundation. Survivors include his mother, Venus; two brothers, Dennis and Dr. Stephen; and two sisters, Estelle Blaseos and Mary Jane Demetris. Services were private.
