Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I would like to congratulate White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf for getting what he wanted: He destroyed the team’s chances to win this season.

The whole season was shown in microcosm that Sunday when the Sox brought nine pitchers into the game in the eighth inning, including one who came in without benefit of warming up. Pitching always has been an essential part of baseball, but instead of spending money to acquire a free agent like Roger Clemens or keep Alex Fernandez, the front office strips the team of players who could have helped the Sox win.

The only way the franchise can be saved is to do the following:

– Remove all the perks given the team by the General Assembly.

– Divest Reinsdorf of chairmanship of the White Sox board of directors and let him concentrate on the Bulls and a WNBA team.

– Remove Ron Schueler and replace him with Mike Veeck.

– Rehire Jeff Torborg as manager.

– Replace the TV announcers. Ken Harrelson has done enough damage to this team in the front office and the broadcast booth.
