Want to show a friend that he or she is something special? This will help them get organized and let you be creative at the same time. Best of all, it calls only for items that you probably already have around your house or room.
First, get these supplies:
– A cardboard, plastic or wooden box large enough to hold a number ofspecial items your friend wants to hang on to, such as sports medals or sewing equipment. (A box not much bigger than a shoebox is best.)
– Acrylic paints.
– A few carefully chosen items that reflect your friend’s personality or special interests.
– A good glue to hold those items in place, because they’re for the top of the box. (Goop is a favorite glue. It’s almost indestructible and is available in craft or hardware stores.)
Then, get creative:
– Make sure the box is empty and clean. If it needs painting, choose any color you like and apply it with one of those inexpensive sponge brushes you get at craft stores. Or you can use a makeup sponge.
– Collect all your selected items. Glue them carefully to the top of the box. The items you have chosen should have a flat surface large enough to hold the item securely to the box lid. Arrange the collection in a cool pattern. Let it dry overnight.
Your friend now has a neat storage place for those collectibles, plus a great new room decoration!
