Charles C. Sheffer, 88, of Benton, Ky., formerly of Sandwich, Ill., died Sunday, in Murray, Ky. Mr. Sheffer was employed at E.L. Bruce in Cairo for 22 years and at Caterpillar Inc. in Aurora for 16 years until his retirement in 1974. Survivors include his wife, Lois; a son, Lannie; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Crain Funeral Home in Dongola, Ill. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
