George V. Brien, 78, a 15-year resident of Arlington Heights, formerly of Villa Park, died Monday in his home. Mr. Brien, a retired flexographic pressman in the printing industry, was a World War II Army veteran who served as a mechanic in the European theater of operations. He was a 50-year member of the Oak Park chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. He is survived by his daughter, Paulette Trail; a granddaughter, and a brother. Barbershop visitation will be from 6 p.m. until a barbershop service at 8 p.m. Friday in the Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
