Andrew E. Ferretti, 89, a retired commercial insurance underwriter, died Friday in West Suburban Hospital Medical Center in Oak Park. Mr. Ferretti, a lifelong Chicago resident, worked as an insurance underwriter for more than 45 years. Mr. Ferretti was a volunteer with the Silver Skates and Golden Gloves annual events. He assisted the Chicago Catholic Youth Organization with its yearly boxing events and was inducted into the organization’s Hall of Champions. A World War II veteran, Mr. Ferretti served a number of terms as a member of the Selective Service draft board in the 1950s and 1960s. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a son, Eugene; and a brother. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Rago Brothers Funeral Home, 7751 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Victory Church, 5212 W. Agatite Ave., Chicago.
