Has NASA gone crazy? NASA proposes sending 72.3 pounds of pluto-nium into space in October during the Cassini mission.
One pound of plutonium 238, if distributed evenly over the Earth, could theoretically induce lung cancer in the entire human population, and NASA wants to risk 72.3 pounds being released into our atmosphere!
If the plutonium is launched, we have three chances of a catastrophe–during launch, leaving our atmosphere and in August 1999, when Cassini orbits the Earth.
Don’t let NASA tell you an accident couldn’t happen. Remember the Challenger disaster, Apollo 13, etc.? It could happen again and with catastrophic consequences! This is not a bad science-fiction movie; it is really going to happen next month, and NASA has 12 more of these launches proposed unless we the people stop this insanity.
