In the second fire in two weeks, only minor damage resulted when a blaze erupted shortly after noon Monday on the 7th floor of the vacant Marina City office building. The fire was apparently started by “workers with blowtorches.”
Workers were gutting the structure across from the House of Blues restaurant and club while constructing a hotel that will be affiliated with the blues club.
Two people were injured. A firefighter was treated for an eye injury and a construction worker was treated for smoke inhalation.
