Elizabeth Ely Murray, 84, of Evanston, a former member of the New Trier Township High School District 203 Board of Education, died Wednesday in the Presbyterian Home in Evanston. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Murray graduated from Scripps College in Claremont, Calif. She served on the boards of the Chicago Commons Association and the Suburban Cook County Area Agency on Aging, and was vice president of the Winnetka chapter of the League of Women Voters. She was a member of the Tuesday Ladies reading club for more than 20 years. She is survived by a daughter, Anne Eskra; a son, Gordon; a sister, Helen Brill; two brothers, John and Frederick; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 in Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine St., Winnetka.
