John “Jack” S. Bruce, 63, of Rochester Hills, Mich., a former employee in the Chicago office of Aetna Life & Casualty Co., died Friday in Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, Mich. He was president of CBS Boring and Machine Co. Inc., a manufacturer of heavy equipment based in Fraser, Mich. Mr. Bruce had been a senior account representative for Aetna in Chicago from 1968 to 1984. While living in Wheaton, Mr. Bruce, a jazz pianist, helped form the Reformed Bootleggers Jazz Band. He is survived by two brothers, Robert and Alfred Jr. A funeral service will be held Wednesday in Sterling Heights, Mich.
