Paul Reizen, 78, died Sept. 26 from cancer and a heart ailment in Highland Park Hospital. A recently retired psychotherapist, Mr. Reizen practiced in the Highland Park area for 48 years, working much of the time with young adults. “He was a very outstanding psychotherapist,” said his wife, Shirley. “He had a way of knowing what people needed.” A veteran of World War II, he was a Purple Heart recipient. Mr. Reizen received his undergraduate degree from New York University and his master’s from the School of Social Administration at the University of Chicago. He also was a member of the Ortho Psychiatric Association and was the dean of admissions emeritus at the Institute for Clinical Social Work. Other survivors include a son, Richard; a daughter, Judy Maeda; and five grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 28.
