Kenneth C. Bessert, 72, of Lombard, a retired welder from Binks Manufacturing Co. of Franklin Park, died Monday in Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. The Chicago native and 1943 graduate of Lane Tech High School served in the South Pacific during World War II. A life member of Villa Park VFW and 38-year resident of Lombard, he is survived by five sons, Roy, Ron, Jerry, Terry and John; four sisters; a brother; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard.
