A 17-year-old girl watched her ex-boyfriend fatally shoot her parents with a shotgun and was abducted by him before his father convinced him to surrender to police, authorities said Wednesday.
Robert Castro, 26, was ordered held on $750,000 cash bond after he turned himself over to sheriff’s deputies and confessed to killing the man, age 52, and his wife, age 50, Manitowoc County Sheriff Tom Kocourek said. Castro was not officially charged Wednesday.
The victims’ bodies were found in separate rooms at their rural Mishicot home, the sheriff said. Each had been shot with a shotgun Tuesday, the sheriff said.
The victims’ daughter, a senior at Mishicot High School, had broken off a relationship with Castro last Thursday, Kocourek said.
Castro drove around with her for nearly seven hours, and apparently after talking with his father, who lives in Manitowoc, turned himself in shortly after midnight, the sheriff said.
