Weather watchers tell us El Nino will be worse this time than it was in 1982. Millions of dollars have been spent to place buoys loaded with scientific gadgets in the waters to track and record everything you ever wanted to know about this natural phenomenon.

The `experts” are making dire predictions, and people everywhere are preparing for the worst. As usual, everybody is talking about the weather, but no one does anything about it.

Knowing how El Nino works gives us a golden opportunity to actually do something instead of spending megabucks to watch and record disasters. Why not try changing the temperature of the water that is overheating and causing all the problems?

Build a pumping station in the heart of El Nino, run giant pipes out to surrounding cold waters and recycle. Pump out hot, bring in cold. Make it all lukewarm. We may actually be able to control weather worldwide by opening or closing valves. Politicians will love it. They can tax us for good weather and use Mother Nature to fight enemies. The possibilities are mind-boggling.
