The Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria will lead a voyage of historic discovery Monday in Chicago’s 45th annual Columbus Day Parade.

Three floats depicting Columbus’ three ships will lead the two-hour parade, which will include marching bands and more than 200 floats.

Mayor Richard Daley, Gov. Jim Edgar and Pasquale D’Avino, consul general of Italy, are scheduled to attend.

The parade kicks off at 12:45 p.m. at Dearborn Street and Wacker Drive.
