A 40-acre, 24-unit subdivision just north of Marengo has won the approval of the Village Board and will take its plans to the McHenry County Board for final approval.
The Stone Ridge subdivision, to be developed by the Monthelie Group of Huntley, is expected to be made up of single-family homes from 2,400 to 4,000 square feet.
Plans for the subdivision, which will border the Marengo Ridge conservation area, include three water-retention ponds.
The development lies in unincorporated McHenry County, but Marengo’s approval was required by county law because it lies within the village’s 1 1/2-mile planning district.
Septic layouts and soil tests have been completed.
