Andersen Worldwide estimates it had revenue of $11.3 billion in the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, a record for the world’s largest accounting and consulting firm, one of the firm’s European offices said. Revenue rose an estimated 19 percent from $9.5 billion the previous year, with the firm’s accounting and consulting units both posting record revenue. Chicago-based Andersen Consulting produced an estimated $6.1 billion of the revenue, up 24 percent from fiscal 1996. The accounting arm, Arthur Andersen & Co., also based in Chicago, posted estimated revenue of $5.2 billion, up 13 percent.
