Lots of people take cheap shots when talking about the Bears and their management. It’s a pretty emotional topic, but when you put some of the bitter disappointment of this season aside and take a rational look at the situation, it seems pretty clear what has to happen: Nothing short of wholesale change will bring about a winner.

Yes, they might win a few games this year, but a couple of victories from a team that only last year was supposed to be playoff caliber will not do the trick. We as fans have endured five years of losing, and this year is the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

The Bears have a proud and storied history, a tradition of tough, winning football. But the only thing this year’s Bears have in common with the past is the name and uniform. This combination is not working. Michael McCaskey, give everyone concerned a break. Do something.
