George S. Hides Jr., 80, a Chicago native, died Saturday in Lexington Nursing Home in Wheeling of a stroke. Mr. Hides owned several food stores in Oak Park before going into the restaurant business. He later worked as a city worker in the Building Department until his retirement. Survivors include two sons, George and Bob; two daughters, Mary Ellen Polito and Beverly Moriello; his stepmother, Bertha; five sisters; two brothers; and eight grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Celestine Catholic Church, 3020 N. 76th Ct., Elmwood Park.
