Gerald D. Schumacher, 73, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of McHenry, died Saturday in Kissimmee, Fla. A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion Fox River Grove Post 119, he was the former owner of Schumacher Plumbing and Heating in Fox River Grove; a member of the National Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors; past president of Fox River Grove Lions Club; a member of Holy Cross Church and the Holy Cross Seniors Group, Orlando; Central Florida Stroke Club, Orlando and a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in McHenry. He is survived by his wife, Louise; four daughters, Linda Brown, Jane Martinez, Dr. Donna and Joyce; a son, Glenn; one brother and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Peter M. Justen Colonial Funeral Home, 3807 W. Elm Street, McHenry.
