Wilbert B. Landmeier, 87, formerly of Wheaton and a member of one of DuPage County’s pioneering families, died Friday in his home in Juneau, Wis. Born in Bensenville, Mr. Landmeier was a dairy farmer. His family settled in DuPage County 150 years ago and owned the Bluetop farm in Gretna, before the area was subdivided and incorporated as the village of Carol Stream. He was a member of the DuPage County Farm Bureau and the Dodge County, Wis., Farm Bureau. Mr. Landmeier’s family was featured in a late 1950s NBC television program called “Out on the Farm.” The show was the second color telecast ever produced for television. Survivors include his wife, Bertha; a son, James; three daughters, Joyce Buttner, Janet Zoellick ahcnd Judy Hesterman; four sisters; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Brust Funeral Home, 415 N. Gary Ave., Carol Stream, followed by services at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
