Erna Elsie Schmidt, 91, a resident of Arlington Heights, died Monday in Brighton Gardens Healthcare Center, Prospect Heights. Mrs. Schmidt, a homemaker, was born in Chicago and worked 15 years for the Chicago and North Western Transportation Co. Survivors include a daughter, Susan M. Morris; five grandchildren; and a sister. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, in Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John United Church of Christ, 308 N. Evergreen St., Arlington Heights.
