Janis Bartelt, 65, of Wood Dale, a former Sunday school teacher and local Camp Fire Girls leader, died Saturday in her home after a battle with cancer. Born in Detroit, Mrs. Bartelt was also a member and past president of the Elmhurst chapter of the DuPage County Homemakers Extension Association. Her Camp Fire Girls troop was affiliated with the Salt Creek Council. Survivors include her husband, Norman; two daughters, Susan Drennan and Nancy Dodd; four grandchildren; and a sister. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Geils Funeral Home, 260 W. Irving Park Rd., Wood Dale.
