Eugene Buchalter, 79, died Tuesday of a stroke in St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. Mr. Buchalter worked for about 30 years in the Cook County Recorder of Deeds office. A graduate of Kent Law School, he had a private practice in the Loop prior to working for the county. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; and two sisters. Services were Wednesday.
