Jane A. Dean, 81, a Palos Heights resident and 30-year employee of the Chicago Board of Education, died Sunday at Palos Community Hospital. Born in Chicago, Dean graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana. She served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II when she was secretary to the commanding officer at the marine air station in Santa Barbara, Calif. She helped with the war bond drives. She was a 60-year resident of the Beverly neighborhood. Survivors include her husband, John D.; and a sister. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday, Christ the King Catholic Church, 92nd and Leavitt Streets, Chicago.
