Seth Sims Jr., 74, of Inverness, died Saturday at Evanston Hospital. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, Mr. Sims served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Elgin Academy, Brown University and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He once was director of design for R.R. Donnelley and Sons. Survivors include two sons, Bruce and Seth; and a sister, Georgia Carson. A memorial reception will be held Saturday in the Old Church Inn, 18 N. 4th St., in St. Charles.
